Universe2go has 2 primary modes:

1) Star Map Mode: Use this mode, with limited features, to enjoy Universe2Go without the viewer.

2) Planetarium mode: With the universe2go viewer, you have a whole new experience of the starry sky accompanied by audio explanations and the benefits of augmented reality.

How it works :

Thanks to the star viewer, you can see the real sky, with a superimposed digital image, providing simultaneous audiovisual explanations of stars and constellations. This combination creates a perfect symbiosis between the real sky and the virtual world. Universe2Go uses the sensors on your smartphones to determine where you are on the earth and where you (and your viewer) are directing your eyes to generate information and digital images of stars and other celestial objects.


You can already familiarize yourself with other star map applications, which use similar features in reality augmented. However, these applications are very limited because the smartphone camera does not provide a good quality of the sky during the night. But universe2go is very unique and has distinct advantages over other apps !!!

1) Universe2go uses a special algorithm to identify the stars you are observing at the moment with great precision, while allowing you to learn a lot about the stars.

2) Universe2go displays constellations at the same size as true. Using and manipulating universe2go is child's play, because you just have to look at the real sky and all the audiovisual information is superimposed.


What options do you have with universe2go?

1) In discovery mode you can explore all 88 constellations, learn how the visibility of constellations changes over the years and which stars belong to which constellations. You can see the lines that connect the stars together and listen to the information that describes the constellations, stars, and planets.

2) In the mythology mode, you can see representations of mythological figures, which ancient cultures, such as the Greeks, associated with the stars and listen to the fascinating stories about the constellations. This mode allows you to easily learn the heroes, gods, beasts and beautiful princesses of the ancient.

3) In deep sky mode, you can watch images of planets, nebulae, stars, star clusters, galaxies, comets, satellites. Explore the beautiful different celestial objects that seem to be invisible to us, but that are present everywhere in our universe. Universe2go shows you the most impressive beautiful celestial objects, which have been very specifically selected for you.

4) In Quiz mode you can test your knowledge of the night sky. Find the constellations that universe2go wants to show you.

Universe2go contains more than 3 hours of audio explanations and hundreds of carefully crafted images, including all 88 constellations, the complete Hipparcos star catalog (with 120000 stars) and the NGC catalog (7000 celestial objects).
