About this app

OM. Mahastro presents this Great hymn 'Shri Rudram' also known differently as 'Sri Rudraprashnah', "shatarudriya" or "Shiv Rudram Path" in the form of an App with unique and useful features that facilitate the devotees of lord shiva in expressing their prayers and salutations.

Note: Since in 'Rudram Namakam chamakam audio', Namakam itself is considerably a lengthy hymn, we have made the Chamakam part as a separate app.

"VEDHA PATASHALA SERIES"

13) Intro audio about 'Sri Rudram Prashnam' is included.
14)Now, preferred language and font size cached for future app loads.

Caution :
Chanting Vedic mantras are a very sensitive subject matter.
If not properly chanted, it may even yield negative results.
Unlike a sloka or stotram, a Mantra needs special attention. Its complex reciting rules like specific time duration to utter letters (dheergam, hrasvam, and plutam), different Intonations (Udata, Anudata, and Svarita) and meters referred as chandas and many such things.
Since this is so, It is best advised and recommended to initially start learning any Vedic Hymn from an adept GURU and then to follow further practice with the help of any tools such as this app.

Know what Shri Rudram is :

'Shri Rudram' is a Vedic hymn that forms a part of Yajur Veda.

A Prayer is something that we place as our request or demand our favourite deity. But a Salutation is something that we praise the attributes of our dearest lord and cherish those attributes in the form of bhakti.

This beautiful and unique Vedic hymn is set in such a way that,
it is not only a prayer to Lord Shiva but is also a beautiful rhythmic salutation (Namah:) that we offer to our dear lord Shiva.

There is no other Vedic mantra that has this unique feature as in 'Shri Rudram' that, the word 'Namah:'(i.e, salutation) is attached to each and every divine name of the supreme lord. Though this looks very much similar to a naamaavali, it is much greater and supreme,
as it forms a part of our holy Veda.

There is a famous saying that goes like this ...
** " camakaṁ namakaṁ caiva pauruṣasūktaṁ tathaiva ca
nityaṁ trayaṁ prayuñjāno brahmaloke mahīyate " **

Meaning -- He whoever recites Namakam and Chamakam along with Purusa Sooktam on a daily basis, will be honoured in Brahmaloka.

There is so much greatness attached to 'Shri Rudram' that the list will never end. One has to experience for himself.

When Rudram as such is referred, it means both the Namakam and Chamakam part together only. Namakam includes the salutations and Chamakam includes our prayers, each forming 11 anuvakas to resemble the 11 forms of Rudra.

May Lord Shiva Bless all.

Om Namah Shivaya.

Great job.. Appreciate the Sri Rudram recitation and the software developers. I have a humble request. Is it possible to have the feature like Teacher teaches once and student repeats the same twice. Currently it is repeating once. If it is made as repeat twice, then it will be perfect for the learners. To make the learning perfect better to make like reciting half sentence, next step is full sentences and finally full Anuvaka. This will serve both learners as well as regular recitation.

Cudos to the developers- this app has three USPs - you can Read Rudram in 6 languages of your choice Sanskrit, English and all four South Indian languages - Tamil, Malayalam, Telegu, Kannada while Listening in two modes (Learning/ Chanting) with two speed (Normal/ Slow). The audio is in Vedic traditional style and developed with the intention of teaching beginners in the gurukul parampara. Congrats and it is my favourite app. Request you to develop apps for Gita/ Suktham & important Upanishads

Perhaps the best app to learn Rudhram among all the options. But I would request the developers to add just one feature to make it complete. Please introduce next button that could make us move to the next adjacent shloka inside an Anuvakam. Otherwise it is very difficult to go the exact shloka we want as it quite voluminous unlike Adhithya hrudhya, which is quite concise

Dear Gowtham D, Sorry for making you wait this long. But the good news is, you have the navigation problem solved completely in Pause Mode. Scroll the text wherever you want, the play head will move there instantly with a notification of where you are in a toast. πŸ˜‰. Hope this helps. Also, Check the Intro Audio. πŸ˜‰. May lord Shiva bless you all.

What's new

1) Surprising Intro audio on 'Shri Rudram' for our users.
2) Exciting text-scroll feature in pause for users to navigate to the desired line and play audio from there :P
3) Most requested feature - Retain Preferred Language and Font on repeated App launch.
4) Enhanced UI to accomodate new features.
5) Now, it's a complete app with all features with 6 languages, Meaning, Learning mode, Audio repeat, Word Repeat, Font adjustments, Text Highlight, comfy search, etc. Enjoy :)
