Λαυριωτικόν Εγκόλπιον

The present application aims to be an aid to the devotional life of every Orthodox Christian, especially the pious pilgrims of the Holy Name Mount Athos, allowing them to live according to the rhythms of the Holy State. More specifically, the following features are provided:
▶ Monitoring the time of the Holy Monasteries of Mount Athos (Byzantine Time),
▶ Detailed Calendar and Standard of the services held in the Holy Monastery of Megistis Lavra, according to the Old (Holy) and New (Secular) Calendar,
▶ Search Holidays based on the name of the holiday or Saint,
▶ Detailed Lent and listing of the Readings (Gospel and Apostolic passages) for each day of the year,
▶ Information about Orthros and the Divine Liturgy of each Sunday (Sunday Route),
▶ Citation of a basic, comprehensive set of sequences, taken from the Holy books of the Church (Engolpion Akoluthion),
▶ Calendar of the Festivals of the Holy Monasteries and Sketes of Agioreitis,
▶ Easter: Automatic calculation of mobile holidays and astronomical data of all years (equinoxes, time changes, solar and lunar eclipses, etc.),
▶ Complete Telephone Directory of the Holy Foundations and Public and Private Services of Mount Athos,
▶ Display celebratory contacts and birthdays, with Old and New Calendar, as well as set the type of Calendar and the date of celebration of each contact,
▶ Widget with the current Byzantine / Universal time and the day's calendar, according to the Old and New Calendar,

The lives of the Saints were drawn from the edited, polyphonic edition of the book "Agiologion tis Orthodoxia" by Mr. Christos Tsolakidis. Product of personal recording of Fr. Nektarios Mamalougos is the corpus of the Gospel and Apostolic passages, which he very kindly provided us for the needs of the application. For all of the above we warmly thank him, because without his valuable help this effort would not have come to fruition.

The images of the Saints come from the websites http://www.saint.gr/ and http://www.pigizois.net/sinaxaristis/sinaxaristis.htm. The texts of the Holy Orders and the Apolytykia were taken from the website of the Greek Liturgical Texts of the Orthodox Church (http://glt.xyz/) and the Blog of Mr. Ilias Voutsinas (http://voutsinasilias.blogspot.gr/).

The services, the calendar, the fasts and the readings of each day are produced automatically based on an algorithm, which is based on some basic provisions of the Standard of the Great Church of Christ, more specifically of the Holy Monastery of Megistis Lavra. We could not claim to have succeeded in capturing electronically the standard of the Lauriotian brotherhood in its complete form. Such an undertaking would be extremely difficult to carry out, requires considerable research, and is in any case beyond the scope of this application. Therefore we ask for your understanding of random failures or wrong choices when executing the implemented algorithms. We rely on your feedback to correct any such programming oversights you notice.
