About this app

The IPRbooks WV-Reader application was created for people with disabilities and is available with a corporate subscription to the IPR SMART system (link https://www.iprbookshop.ru). It allows you to play the texts of publications using TalkBack, a special feature built into devices running the Android operating system and designed to make it easier for users with low vision or completely blind to work with them. Today, Talkback remains the best solution for visually impaired and blind people to work with mobile applications for Android devices.
When developing the IPRbooks WV-Reader software, all the main problems that are often encountered in mobile applications when working with Talkback were taken into account and corrected. In IPRbooks WV-Reader, all interface elements (including buttons) are additionally voiced, which allows people with disabilities to navigate the application without any difficulty.
In addition, IPRbooks WV-Reader takes into account other basic requirements of Talkback developers for mobile applications for people with disabilities:
the application is designed in three colors: black is used for text, white for pictures, and the general background of the screen is gray;
all the "buttons" with which the user controls the application are enlarged enough;
the list of items displayed on the display is not divided into two columns, which is very important for such applications. All elements are arranged sequentially in one column in full screen, which makes it easy to scroll through the information;
the application is equipped with a voice feedback function with the user: all actions that occur on the screen are duplicated in voice format.
The IPRbooks WV-Reader software has been tested using a special Google app (Google i/o 2017 official conference) to determine if the interface is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. A positive conclusion has been received.
