About this app

The Piano Partner 2 app for Android mobile devices provides a friendly, interactive way to help you learn and enjoy music with your Roland digital piano. Songs and DigiScore Lite show the piano’s internal music collection on your device’s display, while Rhythm and Flash Card allow you to build skills with intelligent accompaniment and engaging music exercises. Piano Partner 2 also enables your mobile device to work as a remote controller for your Roland piano, offering an intuitive graphic interface for even easier operation.

Recorder and Diary functions help you progress more quickly, allowing you to evaluate performances and keep track of your daily practice activities. The Diary logs stats about playing time, which keys you played, and more, and it’s even possible to share them with your family, friends, and teachers directly from the app. To use Piano Partner 2, connect your device and a compatible Roland piano wirelessly via Bluetooth®, or wired with a USB cable. Piano Partner 2 is available for free from the App Store or Google Play.

Some good, some bad. Using with Roland FP-10. It does provide access to many additional sounds. Another big plus is the ability to adjust piano settings, including touch sensitivity. But there are some drawbacks that are frustrating. First, it only records using the main piano sound. Also, you cannot use the rhythm feature for accompaniment unless you are connected via USB, which kind of defeats the benefit of having a piano with Bluetooth. Also tends to lock up on Android (Galaxy A52).

This app is my greatest disappointment with my Roland piano. It is worthless. Impossible to connect and get it working, and I've tried so many times, using not only the manual, but instructions sent by Roland via their support function. Once -- and only once -- I was able to get it to connect, and I'd really love to use the capabilities to navigate the functions and to use the learning capabilities. Roland should let us use the updated app.

The app is so close to working well... but doesn't. The app should automatically log in to the most recent account, as well as automatically pair to whatever device was last connected to. Plus, there's no way of sharing recordings at all, nor accessing/listening to recordings without being actively connected to the piano. It would be nice if recordings were saved locally to the phone/tablet/other device, so they can be accessed anytime, anywhere. 👍: connects to FP-30, although it's confusing
