Freecampsites.net is your primary source for information on free campgrounds and boondocking locations.
Free camping locations are often the most beautiful and peaceful camp sites. They are also a well kept secret and can be difficult to locate. Thankfully you have this app to help you find them. It provides a simple, map-based search engine for free and cheap camping spots, many with pictures and reviews. It is also a platform for sharing locations you have discovered with others.
We know that this app will help others who are on the road and looking for free campsites or free campgrounds. We are community driven and, while we will be adding many free camping sites, we hope that the users who find the site useful will add some of their favorite camping places as well.
Wild Campsites
The main focus of the site will be public lands. We especially like camping in Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA’s (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. Hopefully, you enjoy the same style of camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we’ll all have much more to choose from.
Free Camping For Everyone
All campsites listed on this website should be vehicle accessible. All campsites on this website should be free or $12/night or less for everyone. No camping location listed here should require you to be of a certain age, occupation, or a member of a group. If there is a fee that matches our criteria, that fee is the same for everyone.
Overnight Parking
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops and other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these; there are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a user finds one of these locations to be useful and submits a retail parking lot, we may approve the post as a member of the community has taken the time to create the entry.

It's good for a limited distance. I can't scroll around to another area and look for more sites if there aren't any nearby. I even tapped the "search here" in a nearby area and then every time I opened it up to look after that point it said that the site timed out. I had both wifi and my data available. Is there any way to have an option to not show every Pilot/Flying J in the app? There's a Pilot/Flying J app that has every one listed so if you could somehow use that database to do that.

Has a lot of wasted potential! Seems no one is updating or managing website/app. I've been using it for several months & left reviews of sites, but nothing gets posted. Most campsites haven't had updated reviews for at least a year or often many years. Makes one think this website has been abandoned. So far, only using it to find sites close to home. I don't want to get to a site and find I can't stay there only to scramble to find another suitable place to sleep at the last minute.

it could bring you to some unbelievable places! I've used this for app for 2 years while traveling on the road , and id say about 95% of the time this app came in clutch. needs service or wifi to look up campsites. shows free, and paid campsites. really awesome idea! will never travel without it. really.

What's new
Our initial release. This app is a mirror image of our website. You can find campsites using the map or search box. Advanced search filters and device GPS support are available to help you pinpoint your desired area and needs. You can rate, leave reviews, and upload pictures to campsites that you've been to. You can also add campsites to our database.
