AMeDAS Widget is a free widget weather app that displays AMeDAS images, radar images, meteorological satellite images, typhoon information, etc.

Have you ever wondered not only about the weather forecast, but also where it is raining and what the atmospheric pressure is like?
With this app, the latest weather information images will always be displayed in the widget.
You can also check the weather conditions with images and animations by clicking on the widget.
Radar images and AMeDAS images display your current location, allowing you to see at a glance whether it is raining around you.
If you want to display that image in a widget, press the "Set" button and you can set the display position and size on a separate screen.

I'm concerned about battery consumption because the image is updated, but this widget is designed to update only when the home screen is displayed and the app returns from sleep mode. (Android below 5.0)
Therefore, it does not perform unnecessary image updates and does not consume much battery.

This app caches and displays image data from the Japan Meteorological Agency.

～Notice～
- On Android 9, 10, 11, and 12, you may experience symptoms such as not updating or no response when you tap the widget.
In such a case, start the AMeDAS widget once from the app list screen and it will be updated.
- If you place the AMeDAS widget app icon next to the widget, you can quickly restore the app service.
- There is a problem with the standard home app of OPPO smartphones where the widgets are not updated.
If you install and switch to a home app such as NOVA Launcher, it may be updated.
・Some of the satellite images (quadrant, hemispherical images) have been deleted because they are no longer available on the Japan Meteorological Agency website.
Please use global images.
・In Android 4.4.2, an OS bug has been confirmed that prevents updates from being performed correctly.
We recommend updating to Android 4.4.3 if possible.
If you are unable to update, you can alleviate the symptoms by installing and launching a separate plug-in app called ServiceKeeper.
- If the widget stops updating or the load becomes high, try the following methods.
Method 1. Tap the widget, press Set and press the OK button
Method 2. If the app does not start when you tap the widget, start the AMeDAS widget from the app list screen.
Method 3. Delete the widget and place it again
Method 4: Uninstall the app, restart the device, then install the app again and rearrange the widgets.
Method 5. Disable task killer apps
・You may not be able to update if you are using a screen lock app. If there is a screen lock app that cannot be updated, please let us know the name of the app so we can register it.

○How to use
After installing this app, please add widgets using one of the methods.
A. Long press an empty area on the home screen, select Add Widget from the menu, and add an AMeDAS widget of your desired size.
B. Open the app list screen, tap the widget tab, and add an AMeDAS widget of your desired size.
(The method of arranging widgets also differs depending on the manufacturer and home application. Please check the manual etc. for details.)
After displaying your favorite image on the app screen and tapping "Set," you can change the display position and size by dragging it on the map, pinching out, etc.
You can also change the size of the display range using the zoom button at the bottom right.
Press the OK button and the widget will be placed on your home screen.

○About permissions (authorities)
This app updates only when the home app or screen lock app is displayed to avoid unnecessary internet access.
Therefore, in order to obtain the names of these applications and whether they are running, we require the permission to "obtain running applications."
In addition, you can display your location on radar images and AMeDAS images, and you need the "approximate location information (network base station)" permission to obtain location information.


○About the menu button
There are rare models where the menu button does not appear. If you are using such a model, you can bring up the menu by long-pressing the back button.
Also, you can always display the menu button by selecting "Show back button" from the menu.
