Please enable this app at Accessibility -> Downloaded services -> Phone Lock -> On
(Don't worry, App only observe phone lock actions)
Android Oreo or older version, I'm still using 5 seconds software lock (it is the best solution now).
Please allow modifying system settings.
NOTE : This app haven't user interface, your phone will lock immediately when launch it, first 5 sec is software lock after then hardware lock
- Support most of the fingerprint unlock without PIN code
- Support notification bar pull down panel quick setting tile widget to lock phone and volume control
- Battery 0% usage, background 0% RAM usage not only protect your physical phone button but also protect your battery and phone

I've tried a LOT of the screen-off apps (possibly most of them) including many of the paid apps, and this one is by far my favorite! My LG phone had this feature built in, called "knock off" - until I switched to a third-party launcher app. I really missed being able to turn my screen off without using the power button and without locking it. So I was thrilled when I finally found this app. All of the other apps I tried automatically locked the screen, disabled the fingerprint sensor so I had to use my PIN to unlock the phone, or kept the faux black screen for a very long time before the screen timed out (during which time, accidentally hitting the volume button, etc would turn the screen back on). This app temporarily lowers the screen time-out so the faux black screen only lasts a brief time before the screen times out. Once the screen times out, I can use LG's built-in "knock on" feature to turn the screen back on later without having to unlock it. (For some reason, knock on still works, even though knock off doesn't.) The launcher app I use (Nova Launcher) allow me to set actions for various gestures (like double-tapping the screen), so I was able to configure the double-tap gesture to activate this app. Now, double-tapping on my home screen turns it off just like it did originally!

This app turns off the phone screen (works great), but doesn't actually shut down the phone. I was wanting a hard shutdown for security (lock and require pin). You can change app settings and access features with a long hold on the app button. Suggestion: This app can be added to a Google Assistant Routine to enable screen off by voice command. To the developer: Can you add security lock or power down to the app?

Actually works!! Works after 5 seconds, only shows finger reader to get back in during that 5 sec timeframe, then shuts off screen for true device lock-screen thereafter. Perfect for Moto Z4 where the finger reader is inaccessibly beneath the screen without this app. I'd be pressing my power button every time without this app. Love it! Thanks developer. Would love if you could add function to assign app as the phone assistant...then you could just hold home button to lock phone, saving a step!
