About this app

“Polish Routes” is a mobile application focusing on five incredibly interesting regions of North Western Poland. The mobile guide takes you to the most interesting corners of the Szczecin Littoral, Prosna River Valley, Myślibórz Lake District, Drawsko Lake District and the Wałcz Lake District – such as historic landmarks and sites of high natural value, including sports-recreation venues as well. In addition, each tourist visiting the region will find a wide dining and accommodation infrastructure, as well as a greatly-developed network of tourist information points, shops, offices and banks, which make the sightseeing not only pleasant but also convenient. Hiking, bicycle, kayaking, educational and Nordic Walking tourist routes are the application’s another great asset. It is also possible to use navigation, and hear legends or audio descriptions of the region’s most characteristic places. The application’s database is incredibly developed: it features over 1,500 sites in various categories, over 4,000 km of routes forming in total about 200 trails, and over 1,500 colourful photographs depicting the sites and routes.

The following sites featured in the application are especially worth visiting:
Szczecin Littoral (Goleniów County): the Wolin Gate, Church of St. Catherine and city walls with the Mint and Gunpowder Gate in Goleniów, the Ina River Meanders Kayaking Trail, beach and yachting marina in Stepnica, a view tower on Zielonczyn Mountain, Szczecin Lagoon Nature Park in Czarnocin, Palace in Maciejowo;
Prosna River Valley: an Indian Village in Józefów, Reformanti Monastery Complex in Chocz, Church of James the Apostle in Czermin, Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Żegocin, Palace-Park Complex in Dobrzyca, historic Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sośnica, Church of John the Baptist in Szymanowice;
Myślibórz Lake District: European Capital of Nordic Walking in Barlinek, Papiernia [Paper] Mill in Barlinek, Knights Templar Commander Headquarters in Boleszkowice, Old Town in Choszczno, Gothic church in Choszczno, Knights’ Castle in Dębno, Church in Chłopowo, Lipiany – the peninsula of orchids, Dendrological Garden and Palace in Przelewice;
Drawsko Lake District: Lubie, Siecino, Pile, and Drawsko Lakes, kayaking trails on the Drawa, Piława, and Gwda Rivers, places: Złocieniec, Szczecinek, Drawno, Czaplinek, Drawsko Pomorskie, Ostrowice, Borne Sulinowo, Barwice, Kalisz Pomorski, Wierzchowo, Grzmiąca, Szczecinek Lakes, Drawsko Landscape Park;
Wałcz Lake District: Pomeranian Wall Fortifications, Wild European Bison Herd in Jabłonowo, Rurzyca River Valley Nature Reserve, Death Isthmus, Grupa Warowna Cegielnia Fortification, Wedel Tuczyński Family Castle in Tuczno and Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Wisielcza Mount – Strzaliny, Magnetic Mount near Strączno, Wieli Bytyń Nature Reserve.

The application uses GPS technology, showing the user’s position and site localization. It works both online and offline.
