Chants of Great Lent performed by the choir of the sisters of the St. Elisabeth Monastery in Minsk. The collection contains selected hymns from various services of Great Lent. Basically, these are Znamenny, Valaam, Kiev, Bulgarian chants.

The austerity and severity of two-part chants such as “On the Rivers of Babylon”, “Now the Powers of Heaven”, “The Embrace of the Father”, etc., like the entire course of Lenten services, inspire believers that fasting is a period of deep humility and true repentance. The collection ends with the hymn "Lament of the Virgin", which is an example of Russian spiritual verse, expressing the repentant feelings of those praying with all the penetration and depth.

The collection of audio recordings is presented by the Studio in the name of St. John the Warrior, the creative workshop of the St. Elisabeth Monastery in Minsk.

As in other collections of the Audio Prayer Book series, the words spoken in the chants are highlighted, which allows you to follow the text, helps you better understand and memorize prayers.
