About this app

More than 1000 magical places to explore in southern and eastern England from Daniel Start, author of Wild Swimming. Based on the "Wild Guide" (Wild Things Publishing £15.99, 2015), this app provides all the information you need to explore this beautiful and accessible region.

From the best-selling Wild Guide series, this new compendium of wild weekend adventures features the best hidden places to visit in southern and eastern England, including ideas for slow food and wilder accommodation. From the wild swimming rivers, secret beaches and lost ruins of Norfolk and Suffolk, to the ancient woods, meadows and orchards of Kent and Sussex. Includes the New Forest and Isle of Wight. Contains over 1000 hidden places in the south east and around London including: * 300 Wild swimming places, canoeing rivers and hidden beaches * 100 Ancient woodlands, summer meadows and wildlife wonders * 100 Lost ruins, hidden castles and sacred stones * 50 Caves and crypts, grottoes and follies * 50 Sunset hillforts, night walks and spots for wild camping * 250 Micro-breweries, artisan food, cosy pubs and foraging * 250 Campfire campsites, treehouses and remote hideaways

NOTE: due to the large number of images and places the app is slow to load first time and may not work well (or crash) if many other apps are open in parallel. Please close other apps.

You will find preloaded maps, photos, directions and travel writing to inspire and inform. Many of the land and water adventure locations comes with stunning photography. There are entries for pubs, campsites and attractions (usually without photos). If you need inspiration you can browse the app by slideshow, list, photo gallery and on an interactive map. Ask the app to find places close to you, or search using postcode, address, star rating, walk-in time, keywords or other features. You can share places on email and Facebook and save favourites too.

I really enjoy the books and the app is a good extension of that, but why not have one centralised app with the different guides purchased and accessible from within? It seems like a no brainer to just put all your content into one app with a single map, centralised ticklists etc... I don't want it all spread out over 4 or 5 different apps. I'd use this app and likely pay more for the convenience if it was setup like this.

Good app, but PLEASE add a marker to show where you are in relation to the places on the map view! Kind of pointless if you're somewhere new and you can't see your own location relevant to the wild spots!

I bought the app, paid...Google Play insists it is installed on my phone - it isn't! I try to reload, but can't because it says it is already installed - it isn't! Hopeless
