About this app

Displays officially licenced UKHO tidal data on an annual basis without ever needing to go online.

The tidal data is contained in our annual data plugins and must be purchased using in-app purchases. Therefore this app should not be considered a free app.

Once you have purchased the data, this app will allow you to view UKHO standard port tides up to a year in advance.

The app will also calculate secondary port tides using either your offset data or its own built in offsets. (at least 38 primary ports and over 500 secondary ports, see our website for more details on coverage)

The main view is an 'At a glance' table view of each month's tides and tidal ranges.

Selecting an entry will display an easy to use daily chart view showing the tide height for any time of day and a tidal stream view showing tidal direction and speed at hourly intervals.

The 'At a glance' info for today can also be displayed on your homescreen using our widget.

Downloads and displays the current Met Office Inshore Forecast.

Absolute Tides also makes anchoring easy by calculating the maximum and minimum tides beween the current time and any selected future date/time.

Note: This application will NOT work without at least one of our tidal data in-app purchases being installed. Please check that the tide data you want is available before downloading this app. As will all Android Apps, the widget will not work if the app is stored on an SD card.

The small print:
For leisure use only.
Heights of tides can vary from those predicted depending on the prevailing weather conditions.
All data is given in good faith and is believed to be correct but we accept no responsibility for any consequential loss or damage arising from use of this application.
Secondary port data calculated using offsets will be less accurate than the UKHO standard port data.
This app is neither affiliated to nor endorsed by the Met Office.

I've used this app for a number of years and been very happy with it. However the 2024 Tyne primary and secondary port information doesn't load. I've uninstall and reinstalled a few times, deleted the 2024 data and reloaded and nothing seems to work. Really disappointing as this is the key area I paddle in. Tried email support and had no response. UPDATE 11/2/24 well three emails sent to the developers and no answer. Multiple attempts at deleting and reinstalling and still no port of tyne 2024

Update 26/06/21. Since upgrading to a Samsung s20 running android 11 the ability to do the following only works very intermittently: "The chart button changes the chart to show the times that the tide is at a specific height..." Can this be fixed please? Great technical support - it was initially hard to differentiate between two different ports with the same name. Within a day of pointing this out the developers had added the county name to prevent any confusion. Brilliant service. Thank you.

I have just updated to 2024. The River Tyne port and any secondary ports will not install. I get "error loading data". I have wiped all data and restarted phone but still get the same error. Other ports work okay. Great app but no answer to my email and as I use the River Tyne secondary ports it is not of any use to me.
