I like the idea but since the controls select an item that is a few centimeters away from where you are touching you often grab a different piece then you wanted. It's not so bad in early levels but as the puzzles become more complex the more frustrating this becomes and really bad for a child who's fine manipulation is still developing. It's a wonder at what the developer was thinking.

The controls select the piece you touch directly under your finger first, or the piece next to your finger if there's not one under it. So if two pieces are next to each other touch directly the piece you want. The controls move the pieces to the side of your finger so that you can see where your placing the piece.
